Peter and his cousins spend their summer vacation with their grandfather in the Slovenian countryside of the 1970s. On bonfire night, they explore the nearby forest, where the youngest encounters a fairyland of fairies, elves, fire, and the Slavic god Kresnik, facing a test of courage that marks his step toward maturity.
